A native of Thailand, Kulapat Yantrasast earned his PhD in architecture at the University of Tokyo. The Karps met Yantrasast when his firm, wHY architecture, designed the expansion of Louisville’s Speed Art Museum. The Karps’ were encouraged by Yantrasast’s guiding ethic of human centered design and creative collaboration. They shared a vision – to merge culture and commerce – and set a new standard by personalizing institutional office space.
For the corporate office at America Place, the architect wrapped the Gallery building in structural steel and aluminum skin producing a shimmering exterior finish. The award-winning 40,000 square foot office evokes the essence of Yantrasast’s architecture style with clean lines, open space and large windows. Yantrasast states, “I design with one goal in mind: to allow people, culture and places to thrive.”
