Join us for an open house at Jasteka Cultural Center most Fridays between 10am - 3pm. Enjoy the collection of contemporary artworks by more than 70 artists in the Gallery building designed by Kulapat Yantrasast.

SoIN Big Read at Jasteka

SoIN Big Read is a community reading event hosted each October by libraries and local organizations to promote reading and celebrate the joy of learning as a community.

Jasteka has a special connection to this year’s Big Read book, Joyful: The Surprising Power of Ordinary Things to Create Extraordinary Happiness by Ingrid Fetell Lee, as it includes passages about artworks by James Turrell and Olafur Eliasson whose art is on view at Jasteka. We invite the community to visit and experience these artworks in person and join us for our Big Read programs.

Past Event: Art Play at Jasteka

Free program for families.

On Tuesdays, 2-4pm during the summer (May 30 - August 9) we’ll explore artworks by contemporary artists from around the world through family activities like tours, storytelling, games, and hands-on activities. Art Play is part of the 2026 Cultural Pass and we highly recommend signing up to get free access to art & culture experiences for your family! Learn more here.

The 2026 Cultural Pass is presented in collaboration with Louisville Metro Government, Fund for the Arts, Arts & Culture Alliance, Kentuckiana Cultural Consortium, Louisville Free Public Library, and Jeffersonville Township Public Library.

Join us Wednesdays, 2-4pm during the summer (May 30 - August 9) for a tour and conversation centered on artworks by contemporary artists from around the world.

2026 Free Senior Summer Programming presented in collaboration with Cultural Pass Partners, including Louisville Metro Government, Fund for the Arts, Arts & Culture Alliance, Kentuckiana Cultural Consortium, Louisville Free Public Library, and Jeffersonville Township Public Library.
